2012 will be the year to get in on the social media action. Facebook has gotten so huge that if a start-up can get just a small fraction of their traffic they can consider them self a huge success. Not only will you see new Social Media platforms but watch out for the return of some of the old ones. The future will be about specialized platforms and subjects.
The return of MySpace. Justin Timberlake has reportedly purchased a majority stake in MySpace and is looking to revive it as a place for fans to interact with entertainers.
“There’s a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect. MySpace has the potential to be that place,” Timberlake said in a statement. “Art is inspired by people and vice versa, so there’s a natural social component to entertainment.”
